About the Artist
Welcome to my art space!
I’m Beshayer—a self-taught Qatari artist. My art is born from deep feelings and personal stories. Through my work, I explore who I am, the memories I carry, and the hidden forces that change us as we move through life.
My paintings explore the silent and often overlooked struggles of women —isolation, burnout, societal pressure, and the weight of unseen emotions. I like to use dark-toned backgrounds to isolate my figures and eliminate any distractions. Each woman comes from my own personal experiences and emotions.
The recurring red hand—a ghostly force that intervenes, controls, or appears to care—represents external influences: family, society, culture, fear, or even hope. It is neither a villain nor a hero, but an ambiguous presence mirroring the forces that shape us. My work aims to explore the hidden dialogues and emotions we have within ourselves: the beliefs we suppress, the burdens of expectation, the quiet moments of despair, and the often overlooked possibility of healing.
Oil paint is my medium of choice because it allows me to build emotions slowly, layer by layer. I prefer to not disclose what each painting means; rather, I want the viewers to see what they need to see in each painting and take whatever feels true to them.
